We celebrate our Catholic identity and guide each student to help form a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We do this in practice as we help our students and families align with our parish, Holy Spirit Church, through faith, mission and service.
Here are some ways in which help our children practice faith.
Prayer
Every school day begins with Prayer to prepare our hearts and minds to learn. As a school community we pray the Angelus and our school prayer, Come, Holy Spirit daily.
Church Services
Every Friday, our students attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass presided by Fr. Ken Sales, our pastor, Fr. John Carillo or Fr. Peter Lawongkerd. Parents and guardians are welcome to join our students in prayer!
Our students are blessed to visit our Lord in the Adoration Chapel. Eucharistic Adoration is the act of worshipping God as He is, present in the consecrated Eucharist. Fr. Peter Lawongkerd and Sr. Asha Kooliyadan meet with our students regularly to pray before our Risen Lord in Adoration as well as to discuss how God works in their everyday lives.
Practicing faith at home
Parents and guardians are invited to visit our Adoration Chapel with their child then discuss with them how they felt about being in the presence of God. Some families find our Introduction to the Adoration Chapel helpful to begin the conversation.
At Holy Spirit School, we support our parents and guardians as the first teachers of the faith. We know our students’ faith is strengthened when families pray at home. And so, we encourage our families to ask their students about their school prayer life and practice reciting the prayers with them.
May the Holy Spirit strengthen our prayer life so we may better serve our school, our community, our world.
