Extended Child Care
All students registered at Holy Spirit School have the option to register for the Extended Child Care program where we provide a safe, nurturing environment that supports each child’s growth and development beyond the regular school day.
We present a variety of activities, a nutritious snack, study time and quiet, relaxing time.
Program Schedule
The Extended Day Care program operates on school days only, with minimum days considered regular school days.
There are a few scheduled closures each year, including the first and last days of school and the last day before Christmas Break. These dates will be noted on the School Calendar and communicated to families in advance.
Clothing
Play clothes are permitted and encouraged, as children will be more comfortable and able to participate fully in activities without concern about getting school clothing dirty. For safety reasons, sandals are not permitted, as they are not suitable for outdoor recreational play. A non-uniform dress code applies during Extended Child Care.
Snacks & Lunches
Students will be given a snack each day, and students are welcome to bring additional snacks for themselves. Minimum day lunches need to be purchased through the school lunch provider or a bag lunch be brought from home.
School Work
All students will have the opportunity to do their homework or study during Extended Child Care. Staff members are available to provide guidance and answer questions; however, students are responsible for completing their own work. If a student is experiencing difficulty managing homework during extended care, families are encouraged to notify a staff member so we may provide additional support when possible.
