Community and Parent Engagement

Community is at the heart of our Catholic education and one of the greatest gifts of being part of the Holy Spirit School family. United by a shared commitment to our children, our school and parish communities work hand in hand—bringing together clergy, faculty, staff, parishioners, parents, and students—to support each child’s growth in faith, learning, and character. This active partnership extends before, during, and after the school day, creating a culture of care, service, and belonging. Through this collective investment, Holy Spirit School becomes a close-knit fellowship that feels less like a campus and more like a truly connected family, where every child is known, valued, and supported.

The Joy of Service and Stewardship

Meaningful connection at Holy Spirit goes beyond obligation; it is a heartfelt invitation to community building. Families who choose Holy Spirit School become part of a vibrant, faith-filled community where everyone support each child’s growth and create lasting memories. Through various volunteer opportunities, parents actively shape the student experience and strengthen the relationships that make our community so special, sharing their energy, creativity, and talents to make each child’s educational experience the very best it can be.

This spirit of stewardship is central to our mission. As with all Catholic schools, fundraising helps bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of providing a premier Catholic education. Through shared involvement and support, families help sustain enriching programs, strong academics, and a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where students are supported to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

Volunteer Requirements

To ensure a thriving and safe environment for our students, we ask all families to partner with us through the following:

Each family must complete 30 volunteer hours per school year. Up to 10 of these hours may come from parish involvement. Additionally, families earn 1 hour for every $25 spent toward food/materials for school events (receipts required).

All volunteers are required to complete the Diocese of Oakland’s Safe Environment for Children program which include fingerprinting and completing Virtus Training before direct, ongoing contact with students.

The Cash Calendar is a wonderful way we work together to keep tuition affordable for all our families! Each family is asked to sell $300 in raffle tickets annually. For your convenience, any unsold portion of this goal will simply be added to your FACTS account at the end of the fundraiser, ensuring every family contributes equally to our school’s financial health.
